印度衛生部公布，當地過去一日新增超過6萬宗新型肺炎確診個案，累計超過2957萬宗確診；另外，新增2726人離世，累計超過37萬7千人死亡。
隨著新增確診個案降至兩個多月以來的最低水平，印度多個大城市逐步解除嚴格的封鎖措施，店舖及商場重新開放，餐廳及部分鐵路列車容許一半入座率，數以千計的民眾到百貨公司購物，大批民眾輪候乘搭地鐵。
當地專家表示，印度9億5千萬的成年民眾之中，只有百分之5完成疫苗接種，過快解除限制措施，可能會導致確診個案反彈。
