因應近年極端氣候，為了要減少西瓜天然災害損失，保障瓜農收益，農委會開辦西瓜保險，投保期間從即日起到6月30日。雲林縣府農業處表示，為減輕農民負擔，除了中央補助50%保費外，雲縣府另外再補助10%，呼籲農民踴躍投保，若損害率達20%以上，一樣可請領農業天然災害現金救助，提供農民雙重保障制度。
