外電報道，緬甸政府計劃明年起，試行以人民幣作為貿易結算的貨幣。
緬甸的信息和投資部門發布的聲明又指，計劃重啟與中國合作的發展項目，包括鐵路和港口計劃，指是經濟復蘇的「重中之重」。
緬甸軍政府在一份聲明表示，中國在財政和新冠疫苗方面提供了支特，形容與中國有特殊的「血緣關係」。
內地官方《環球時報》早前曾經報道過緬甸使用人民幣結算的計劃，稱此舉旨在解決緬甸缺乏美元和其他外幣的問題。
分析人士表示，緬甸日益受到國際孤立可能會迫使軍政府更靠攏中國。
