國務委員兼外長王毅出席中國－東盟建立對話關係30周年紀念招待會。
王毅致辭時，提出推動雙方關係提質升級、加強發展戰略對接、推動《區域全面經濟夥伴關係協定》早日生效實施。
在南海問題上，王毅提出全面有效落實《南海各方行為宣言》，堅持由直接當事方透過對話協商，妥善管控分歧和爭議，加快推進「南海行為準則」磋商。
他又說，要共同踐行真正的多邊主義和開放的地區主義，反對單邊主義和保護主義，反對冷戰思維和零和博弈。
